Vintage Fishing from Cape Code - Frank Woolner

There is an absolutely drop-down fantastic discussion thread going on at StriperSurf.com involving the outdoor author, Frank Daignault, and the daughter of the late former editor of Salt Water Sportsmen, Frank Woolner. In addition there are contributions from others from that era.

The picture below is copied from StriperSurf.com, apologies to Mr. Bob D'Amico for the cross post... just want this "out there" in the blogosphere! :)

If you have any interest in fishing history, or history of any kind, this thread is for you:

Salt Water Ice Breaker

Got out with a neighbor, Joe M from down the block. He has not been surf fishing much over the past 40 years and hadn't been to Brigantine since he was a kid.

Wind was out of the NE/E and coming off the 51F water... hence it was c o l d out there.

Had a bunch of little hits that didn't amount to anything and one angler down beach pulled in a black drum.

But the "big" news was that I finally broke the s a l t water "ice" (about what my hands felt like in this picture)

It was the smallest striper I had ever caught, no more than about 12" in length ... but ... it's a start :)

Broke The Ice for 2013

Finally got out to a local pond and caught a fish.

Life is good :)

Actually God is Good... all the time!
