In the world of fishing, we see deception as normal... in fact necessary.
For we are trying to get creatures designed by God to hunt prey, to
step out of their normal patterns and take a lure or bait, other than
what God has provided.
We are called to avoid such traps:
Proverbs 14:8 (Whole Chapter)
The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways, but the folly of fools is deception.
2 Corinthians 4:2 (Whole Chapter)
Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
