Sea Run Up The Coast

Sea Run Trout!! Just the words invoke the most exotic thoughts of catching outsized, spicy-tempered, trout along the coastal waters of northern Europe.

However, the reality on the East Coast of the United States, there are very few, viable, Sea Run Trout to be found.

"Sea Run Trout" usually means a brown trout that for unknown reasons, drops down into the salt water portion of the Estuary which its natal stream feeds.

A "steelhead" is a similar Rainbow trout, while "Salters" is the nomenclature for brookies who likewise have acted in such an unusual manner.

Only in Canadian streams, along with Atlantic Salmon, do there seem to be any true "Sea Runs"

That said, next spring I'm hoping to visit a couple potential streams in Connecticut and, perhaps Massachusetts.

May Hugh Falkus forgive me :D
