Well, the year ended pretty much the way it started, how the surf was in Brigantine most of the year, for most of the people -> Nuttin'




To borrow from a popular Christmas song:
I'm getting nuttin for Christmas
All the surf anglers are mad
I'm gettin nuttin for Christmas
Cuz the surf ain't been nuttin but bad

Got out for a bit last evening and it was the same old same old for 2015 from the Brigantine
surf.

Have to console myself that it was a beautiful evening 




On the other hand, the NJ DEP has stocked it's "brood stock" for the 2014/2015 winter season

Don't be fooled by the mention of "Sea Run Trout"in NJ. 99.999% of these fish never "see" the "sea".
And they don't "run". They hang out in the Manasquan until they either run out of food, or get eaten by other large river predators (of which there are many)

There are some who "grow" into decent fish, but not many and likely not a result of this "program" per se, just a random few that run the gauntlet and survive to be big enough to hang in the estuary or next to spring seeps during the hot summer months.

An additional 495 large brown trout (averaging 17") have been stocked 

as an extension of the Winter Trout Stocking Program. 

These large broodstock will provide additional angling 

opportunities as part of the year-round trout stocking program 

the NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife provides.
 
In addition, 8,600 brown trout, averaging 10" in length, 

were stocked in the Manasquan River as part of the Sea Run Brown Trout Program.
